Wombwell Main Under 16's have continued to go from strength to strength this season.

They have been crowned winners of the SHCFA Youth Cup, becoming the first club from the Charles Rice League to ever achieve this feat.

The competition started back in September with over one hundred and twenty clubs from all over Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield and Wakefield.

They have won teams from the highly respected Sheffield A Division, Doncaster league sides, before having to come through three big local derbies with wins over Houghton Main in the Quarter Finals. Hoyland Town in the Semi Finals and Hoyland Common Falcons in the Final.

On top of this Wombwell have also been crowned League Runners Up behind Ossett Town, a remarkable achievement considering they only collected one point from their first three fixtures.

They are still involved in two more Semi Finals with games coming up against Houghton Main in the League Cup and Altofts Juniors in the Invitation Cup. Throw in the Healas Cup which they are unbeaten in and this could be a record breaking year for Wombwell.
